Recruitment

The early years recruitment crisis is very well known across the UK and is an issue for all nurseries to find and retain good quality staff, yet due to our reputation, training, culture, support and highly unique environment and facilities, 80% of our core leadership and management team across our nurseries have been developed within the company. As a result of our first-class training and development programmes we are proud that our staff retention remains extremely high with turnover consistently low. Other than hiring for expansion or occasionally colleagues moving for personal reasons or into other areas of education such as teaching, we are proud that in 10 years we have almost never lost staff to our local competitors.

Personal Development Programmes

From day one every new staff member begins their personal development programme. We have designed a thorough and innovate ‘CPD Tracker’ and accompanying tools which begin with a six-week induction. The bespoke training and support they receive we feel are exceptional and the results of years of embedded knowledge. We receive continuous enquiries from nurseries and nursery groups wanting to visit to watch our Educators in practice and understand the mechanics behand our staff welfare, and performance development programme.

Staff performance is monitored through our innovative ‘Talent Review’ system, which is individual to each role at LBO and reviewed every 3 months. In addition, the LBO group holds three ‘inset’ days a year, called Continued Professional Development Days for key training and often joined by expert speakers. Our performance management systems are very popular amongst our consultancy clients who hire us to help them create their own bespoke system to achieve high quality, including a number of well-known UK Nursery Groups. We also reward our staff with an annual event where staff have the chance to let off some steam and our rising stars within the company are rewarded with glass trophy awards for going above and beyond.
